Game Objective
You are the Creator God. Specifically, you are in charge of creating octopuses.
Your goal is to create red, blue, and green octopuses and ship more octopuses to the outside world than anyone else.
Players manage their own “octopus color,” combining head and leg cards to complete eight-legged octopuses.
Read your opponents’ moves, sometimes scrambling for parts, to efficiently create and ship octopuses.
The god (player) who creates and ships the most octopuses by outmaneuvering others and employing strategy wins.

Check the octopus color without anyone else seeing it.
The octopus color will be the bonus point color during scoring.
Place the head card deck and the shared octopus in the common area.
Place the remaining head cards into a deck near the center of the common area.
Flip over three head cards to serve as the head of the shared octopus.

Deal 6 cards to each player; this becomes their initial hand.
Create the Foot Card Deck
Place the remaining Foot Cards face down to form the Foot Card Deck.
Preparing the Discard Pile

Preparing Baby Octopus Chips

※ One small octopus grants the effect of +1 action.
Everything’s ready for the Oct8 game!
Game Start (Determining the Starting Player)
The person who most recently ate octopus dishes becomes the starting player.
If no one has eaten octopus, decide by rock-paper-scissors or similar means.

Replenishing the Common Area’s Octopus Heads
At the end of your turn, if there are three or fewer Octopus Heads in the common area, draw cards from the Head card deck until there are three. Place these cards face-up in the common area. (At the end of your turn, there should be three Head cards face-up in the common area.)
★ Turn Draw
Draw one leg card from the deck and attach it to a common octopus head on the board that is a different color from the drawn card.
・You cannot attach it to a head of the same color!
・You cannot equip more than eight arms in total.

If you cannot meet the above two conditions, add it to your hand.
※You can only attach it to “octopuses with different head and arms colors” during your turn draw!!
Take the octopus with 8 arms!
When the shared head card has exactly 8 arms, take that octopus to your side!

Ship Out! You can only place up to 3 octopuses on your own space!
You can place a maximum of 3 octopuses on your own space. If you take in octopuses and end up with 4, ship out octopuses at the end of your turn to reduce the number to 3.
If the octopus colors match the octopus you ship out, your score doubles! Additionally, it won’t be targeted by other players’ octopus actions.
For each octopus you take in, a baby octopus is born.
When you take in an octopus, you receive a baby octopus (+1 action).
Place it face up (blue +1) near your area.
(When you get a second one, flip it over to make it +2.)
★ Octopus Action
Choose one action from ① to ④ to perform.
① Draw a new leg card
② Attach a card from your hand to the shared octopus head card
③ Exchange a card from your hand with one of your own octopus arm cards
④ Exchange an octopus arm card with an octopus on the field
※ If you cannot perform an action, pass and the turn goes to your opponent.
① Refill Arm Cards
Draw a total of 2 Arm Cards from either the Arm Deck or the Discard Pile and add them to your hand.
・2 cards from the Arm Deck
・2 cards from the top of the Discard Pile
・1 card from the Arm Deck and 1 card from the top of the Discard Pile

※ If there are no cards in the deck or discard pile, you cannot draw.
Hand Capacity Limit (8 Cards)
The maximum number of Arm Cards you can hold in your hand is “8”.
If your hand exceeds 8 cards, discard cards to the discard pile at the end of your turn until you have exactly 8 cards.
② Attach arm cards from your hand to the shared head
Choose one head card from the shared area and attach any number of arm cards from your hand. You cannot attach more than 8 arms. If the octopus gains 8 arms, take it to your own area.
Attach cards with corners marked “2”, ‘1’, and “1” from your hand to the common octopus.
If the octopus gains 8 arms, take it back to your own field.
※ Unlike Turn Draw, you can attach arms matching the color of the octopus’s head.

When the octopus has eight arms, take it to your side.
⇒ One baby octopus is born.
③ Exchange an arm card from your hand for one of your octopuses’ arms
Choose one of your octopuses and exchange an arm card attached to that octopus
for a card from your hand.
A: Select the exchange source (your own octopus)
Select one arm card attached to your own octopus.
→ The number written on this arm card becomes the exchange standard.
B: Select cards to exchange (hand)
Select cards from your hand you wish to exchange. (Multiple cards possible)
→ As long as the total number of Arm cards in your hand matches the number of Arms being exchanged,
any composition is acceptable for the exchange.

※ Unlike Turnedraw, you can attach arms that match the color of the octopus’s head.
④ Swapping Octopus and Octopus Legs
You can swap the legs of your own octopus or another player’s octopus.
There are patterns where the swap target is yourself or another player.
Exchange Patterns
Exchange one of your own octopuses for another one of your own octopuses
Exchange one of your own octopuses for one of another player’s octopuses
A: Select the card to exchange (a squid from your own field or another player’s field)
Choose one squid you wish to exchange and select one of its tentacle cards.
→ The number written on this tentacle card serves as the exchange standard.
B: Select the card to exchange (your own octopus or another player’s octopus)
Select one octopus to exchange and choose the arm card you wish to exchange for it.
→ Exchange is possible if the number of arms on A matches the number of arms on the card you wish to exchange for (multiple cards are possible).

※ You can swap arms regardless of their color.
※ You can only swap arms if both sides have the same number of arms.
Block (Cannot be exchanged by other players)
An octopus with all arms the same color as its head can prevent other players from performing octopus actions.

※ You can swap arms between your own octopuses on your own field if they share the same color!
Using Baby Octopus
Consuming a Baby Octopus Chip (+1) allows you to perform an Octopus Action (any of ① to ④) once more.
You can use Baby Octopus Chips consecutively for the number you possess.
Game Ending Conditions
When either the “Head Card” or “Arm Card” deck runs out,
the game ends. After the turn of the player who exhausted their deck,
each remaining player takes one turn clockwise. After all turns are completed,
scoring begins.
Scoring
At the end of the game, calculate your score by adding the number of completed octopus cards on your play area and the number of arm cards from octopus you have shipped.
Base Scoring (Regular Octopus)
Only arm cards matching the color of the head card score points.
Each matching arm card is worth 1 point!
Arm cards whose color does not match the head card do not score points.

Octopus Color Bonus
For each octopus shipped with matching head and arm colors to the Octopus Color card,
the arm card score is doubled.

5 cards matching your octopus color = 5 points x 2 = 10 points
・Matching your octopus color x2
・Head and arms matching all specified colors
Determining the Winning Player
The player with the highest total score from their octopus wins!
In case of a tie, the player who made the most octopuses wins.
If the tie still cannot be broken, the player with the most arm cards that scored points wins!
